What to Expect at Back In Balance

Welcome mat

You will immediately feel at home the moment you walk in the door.

It helps to know what to expect when you’re going somewhere unfamiliar. Your trust is important to us, so we’ll be as transparent as possible with you.

First visit

Let’s Get Started!

Yes, there is some paperwork to fill out, but it’s only one page. We need some basic information about you, but we do our best to keep it minimal.

Once your paperwork is complete, we’ll put you on a set of specialised ‘scales’ to check the way your spine is currently functioning and to explain how chiropractic care differs from the care offered by your general physician.

Your Medical History and Physical Exam

Then we take some time to ask about your medical history and to do a physical exam. We’ll want to look at x-rays as soon as possible, so feel free to bring a recent set in with you if you have them. Depending on your level of pain at the time of the appointment, we may do some light work on the spot.

Overall, we spend a lot of time listening to you on your first visit.

Second visit

On the second visit, we’ll spend anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes going over x-rays with you to explain how your body is currently functioning and what is necessary for it to function optimally.

Which Option of Care is Best for You?

You will have four options for your care, and we want to make sure you are able to make an informed decision. Those options are as follows:

  1. Ignore the problem and hope it goes away – Some problems self resolve but many spinal problems simply get worse.
  2. Short-term relief care – If you receive care just to address your most obvious symptoms you may experience a relapse.
  3. Corrective care over the long-term – We’ll set up a long-term plan that will fit into your lifestyle to help correct the issues you have and maintain your health.
  4. Designing your own care plan – Let’s work together to design a care plan to help you reach optimal health!

Based on the level of change you want to see happen and the amount of soreness you are willing to endure, we’ll do either light or medium work on your spine during this appointment. You’ll also receive a written report about what we saw in your x-rays to take home with you.

From there, treatment varies by individual. Call your Hobart Chiropractor today to schedule an appointment for optimal living.
